My darling Arlette
Summary: An entry within a journal kept by Lysette.
Date: Monday the 11th of Mai, 1876 IE.

NPCs: Arlette, her daughter

It's early morning, and after checking on her young daughter, Lysette sits at her desk to write out some letters to send on to friends and business acquaintances. Yet, she gets distracted as any new mother might, by thoughts of her daughter born just three months before.

So, instead of taking out parchment for letters, she instead reaches out for her journal where she keeps the odd thought here and there, along with ideas for taxidermy or projects she might consider doing, and begins to write within the book's pages.

Monday the 11th of Mai, 1876 IE.

My darling Arlette,

Today, you are three months old. Today I can be certain that I will not fear waking up to finding you taken away. I have feared that far more with you than I did with your brother. He is a hardly little boy who on one hand, likes having you around, and wants to help, but at the same time, keeps insisting a brother would have been far far better to have!

Arlette. My little eagle. While sickly you might have been that first month, you have turned into a strong little lady. You watch everything around you with a certain keenness that promises to be fascinating when you get older. I have no doubts you will keep us on our toes the older you get. Your poor father won't know what to do with you, I do believe.

My wish for you, daughter, is that you fly as high as you want. I hope you are inspired to reach higher and become more than you think you are capable of. Be courageous and really stretch your limits and see what you can do. I hope you have a sense of courage and a desire to explore and grow. I hope you have the courage to relinquish stale and comfortable habits and beliefs to soar into unknown realms and new realities - continually expanding your view as you grow.

The world will be at your feet, if I have my way.
