An identical letter is penned four times, in Thomas's own hand. It is simple and lacks his usual flourish, and has obviously been written out with haste. The letter arrives via moongazer at various times on the 6th of Octobre.

Gentlemen,

I write this as an identical letter to you four - the Knight Marshal and my fellow Brigadiers. We are at a turning point, and one of potential crisis. Whatever you may have held in your heart with regards to my liege, the Lord Marshal, he was this Kingdom's greatest soldier and tied us together. We have all experienced civil war twice within our life times. Now is the time to ensure that this does not happen a third time.

Action is required, gentlemen. I highly encourage you to make your way to the Queen's court at Griffon Point by any means possibly; ideally, airship. I have been assured by the Chancellor of the Exchequer that expenses incurred will be covered by the royal treasury. We must discuss what is to be done.

Please make haste.

- Brigadier Viscount Thomas Chandus

Thomas,

As I am sure you have heard there has been trouble along the Ironhold border for a time now which has escalated from the seizure of Kaedon owned supplies to raids impacting both the Fallowlands and Kaedon. I had been intending to remind them why raiding us is a particularly bad idea. I bring this up not to elicit your aid (Although you would be most welcome) but to make it clear why I am reluctant to head to Griffon's Point for an undetermined length of time just now.
Can we possibly move the meeting to Rendor or Firen?

- Brigadier Baron Dertan Coning

Thomas,

The Queen's Court? Very well. I pity and regret the Lord Marshal's death, but in his actions, he saved my wife from doom. It is with this that I am indebted to him and thus, I have been called. I find that I must answer, no matter what the cost. I will see you at the Queen's Court, along with our fellow Brigadiers.

- Brigadier Viscount Cervantes Arkanin

Thomas writes solely in reply to Dertan

Dertan,

I realise that you are essential to the effort in preventing incursions on the border from Ironhold. I was not aware of this - perhaps a sign that we ought to correspond more strongly about what is going on in our Kingdom, if we are to be a well versed and swift responding force.

However, you are not so essential that your absence for a few days will cause a catastrophic failure of your front. You have deputies. Appoint one of them, I urgeyou, and come with haste to the Queen's Court. I choose it not because it is close to me, though the situation with the late Duke's court certainly makes it important, but because it is the royal court and this is where we belong.

Please come! Others are on their way. We must meet, and now, in order to prevent worse outcomes. Your skirmishes with Ironhold pale in comparison to what may happen otherwise.

Thomas

The reply is on its way back within an hour of Dertan receiving it.

Thomas,

Very well. I shall take an airship today and pray that I don't have to spend days waiting for the other brigadiers to arrive.

Odds are I will arrive before this letter.

Dertan.
