The Duke al’Morena is pacing in his study the finalized peace treaty in his hand the ink barely dry having just returned from the talks he takes the copy for the King and walks to the door, “Messenger!” The servant on duty runs to the door and Jordan hands him the sealed scroll, “This is to be delivered to the capital. See to it that it arrives as soon as humanly possible. I’ve done as the King requested and made peace with the invaders.”
Walking back over to his desk he takes a seat and pours himself a glass of whiskey taking a sip of it as he shakes his head a bit, “I can’t believe we were able to come to terms.” He sighs a bit and then there’s a knock at his door and another servant, “There’s a letter for you.” The Duke looks up and waves the servant in, “Let’s see it.” Breaking the seal, he reads over the letter from the Crown Princess and just blinks, “Can things not get any crazier?” He takes the letter and tosses it into the fireplace after reading it before he looks back over to the servant, “Have the steward send a missive to my Viscounts. I need an audience with my greater lords and ladies.”
Thinking this day can’t get any crazier Jordan just shakes his head as he polishes off his drink and stands up to return to his room only to find the al’Morena sidhe steel daggers resting on his bed. Looking back towards his guards, “Who was in my rooms?” They both shrug and say they hadn’t seen a soul come in and out besides himself. Walking into the room and picking up the note he reads it and just laughs letting the paper fall to the floor as he collects up the blades and sets them off to the side.
