The humble shacks of Riverton seems rude and unkept besides the neat, regimented, rows of pavilions that house the Argent Legion's sixth cohort. Already the village hums with activity as the womenfolk, and quartermasters, hurry to get fresh water and the labours of training and woodworking begin. A simple pallisade of upright logs now surrounds the village, blocking sight for anyone inside who does not stand upon one of the four simple archer towers or the in-progress structure about the new gates.

A few scrawny looking sheep are in the process of being herded away from the denuded space that used to be the village green, before all this activity was forced upon the inhabitants, as a rather bedragled spear of soldiers pass through the half completed gatehouse and into the village. Soldiers hurry over from the training field to help their companions limp to the healing tents whilst the spear leader moves to the command tent to give a report. The tent flap is already open, although guarded by a pair of the rank and file, and he is waved straight inside by the already armored, and very much awake, Elian.

"We encountered another patrol" The Spear Leader explains. "No casualties but we need a day or two before getting back out into the field." Elian moves to his field table as the spear leader speaks to make a brief annotation on a document there. "Thank you." Elian tells the man. "Take the rest of the day to recover."

As the spear leader heads out Elian picks up another document and frowns at the picture that is starting to be painted by the increased patrols. It seems both Aequor and Bitralund are playing the same game of watch and learn. The document is returned to the desk and he grabs his tribune helm and cloak instead. Theres little that he can do to change that whilst his orders are to fortify and hold this pathetic stretch of countryside. So until he thinks of something better he'll just have to be satisfied with the fact that his patrols are causing that white hall witch just as many problems are his are causing hers.
