Lord Aspendon,

I presume that when you are ready, you will march down the Narrows to Scales and then take the Scamander down south. It is a much quicker and easier journey for your troops, and we've more than enough barges to affect it. I've ensured that your supplies are ready and the barges available. Please let me know if you will be taking this option.

We just made the march from your fief in two days, but that involved seriously pushing the troops. You can choose to do so, but I would suggest a day of rest before embarkation if you do. In our case, we had time for training and other affairs.

I will be sending the balance of the force that I marched up with you down to assist Sir Bethany. I will not be coming, however, as the Duke required the Marches to be manned and I feel that with the solstice approaching the likelihood of an attack by greenskins is high. You've command of them. I'm certain you'll do us proud.

Finally, a disciplinary matter. Once you are in Scales, I require that Cornet Sutton be sent to the garrison in Strand to attend a summary trial. I would prefer that you did not inform him of such before he has conducted the march. Let him be tired when he hears it. I intend to conduct the summary trial in a half day, so while you are embarking troops and supplies or simply resting the men. Cornet Sutton should be returned to you by nightfall. He is to be tried for conduct unbecoming towards an officer and anointed knight, to wit Captain Chandus. If possible, I should like for you and Sir Kalvin to be present.

Sincerely,
Viscount Repton
