There has been a gathering planned in the great hall of silverhill castle for all those of sufficient importance within the county for more than a month. Sadly given recent events the Countess Kaedon is not present and instead Viscount Dertan has stepped up to manage the session.

As the meeting begins he is sat in the great carved ebony chairs that have served as the seat of viscount and viscountess Kaedon for many a year. His garments intended to grant him dignity along with may visible reminders of his individual status and loyalty to Kaedon. He pinches the bridge of his nose between his eyes once, briefly, before standing to attend to the business of local management.

He takes up a position a distance before the ebony chairs, voice and posture formal as he declares what he has come to say.

“I am sure that you have all heard about the Countesses illness at this point. I assure you that she is not dead, nor do we fear that she will die in the coming days. After this meeting I will take some of you to visit with her. I have no doubt that you will understand her need for a measure of privacy in this stressful time.”

“There are several matters that have been delayed by recent situations that cannot be delayed until her recovery. These are matters that were discussed, and approved, by the Countess before the recent actions of Sir William saw her injured.

“I am sure that you are also aware of the troubles being caused by our One Worshipping citizens. I want to make it clear that they have fourteen days to put down their arms and return to their previous lives. If they do this then they should be treated with leniency. This is not freedom for them to commit crimes and I expect them to be punished for anything that you have evidence they have done. Once this amnesty period has passed anyone that continues to act in a rebellious fashion will be treated as a rebel and handled accordingly.

The viscount pauses briefly to take the time to sip at the contents of a silver goblet before continuing.

Now that those unfortunate events have been covered I will move onto the matters that Viscountess Sonya always intended to be handled at this gathering.

“First, under the ever stern gaze of law, I declare, as the regent of County Kaedon that:
As of the last day of this month, Juin 1874, it will be illegal for any man or woman, cleric or otherwise, to attempt to convert any individual from one faith to another. The only exception to this rule is where the conversion is performed by a duly licensed individual within an appropriately licensed structure. This law sees no distinction between those of the Many and those of the One. Its intent is not to drive the worship of the One from our lands but rather to protect its people from unwanted interference. Tolerance remains an important cornerstone of our beliefs. So let it be heard by Law and put into action by Justice.”

Second let it be known that the temple of the many will have a grant of no less than two hundred crowns each year to record and safeguard the knowledge our faith that risk being lost in the name of advancement and religious unity. The treasures contained within our legends and history must not be lost to our children.“

“Finally, the Countess and I, along with the temple of the many wish to extend funding to those who desire to spread our faith, and church, outside our borders. We do not seek to convert those of the one back into the fold but rather to strengthen those of the Many who suffer doubt in the face of our silence. Let us take word of our temple and church to those who have traditionally practiced our faith and let them know that the Many is not going to fade away without a whimper but rather adapt and thrive well into the future. This ancient faith, so rich in its history and power, deserves nothing less.”

"Our clerics will first attempt to spread the message about our church to those who already hold the Many dear in their hearts. Our goal is to bring our brethren together, not to mimic the actions of the One's missionaries."

"In this I already have some good news. Four Corners has agreed to allow us to send a representative to tend the shrine of the Many which already exists there."

Dertan moves back to the chair, seeming a little smaller in the wake of his speech making.

“It would be a shame to waste the opportunities granted by such a gathering. Let us discuss the important matters of the day.”

After that the room is occupied mostly by talk of taxes, land rights, justice and any other of the seemingly endless responsibilities that occupy a holding of this rank.

(OOC Note: Clerics will only be sent to areas with strong many worshipping traditions and will request permission from the local lords (but not necessarily the main House) before practicing. Thus this primarily effects Thrace, Rosendal, Ulsen, Thalesia, Charwin and to some extent Kaedon's Vassal.)
