Though the parchment might well be a trifle stained with wine at the edge, and a few food laden fingerprints sully the corners, the text upon the parchment is no less impressive, written in a flowing hand.

To whom it may concern,

In the event of my untimely demise, which given the foes I have faced is all too likely at times, I Doctor Sir Havelock Synn presently of the Holy Order of the Reliant, do leave my sidhe steel blade Judgement to Viscount Ludovic d'Korbina. I have no family, nor squire to leave this blade to, and should I write nothing, it will likely end up within a vault or some grasping looters hand.

Given that the Viscount d'Korbina has promised aid and succor to our Order, I profess this gift, to be delivered immediately upon my death. Until that day I shall wield it and hopefully wield it well, from then on, may it serve the d'Korbina family for generations to come, and may the Reliants and the North build upon this relationship to form a bulwark against any ungodly incursion.

Doctor Sir Havelock Synn. the Order of the Reliant.

Signed this day, 7th of April, 1874.

The parchment is sealed and stamped at the base with a blob of wax bearing an imprint of the tip of the blade itself, and the single copy given over to the care of Ludovic himself.
