Belladona

In amidst the bustling marketplace of Four Corners drifts the figure of a fairly recent arrival with a large wicker basket in her hands. Belladona Ulsen hasn't been here long, a couple weeks at most but after many days of visiting the market and scouring shops she knows most of the good places to find what she needs. With the skirts of her simple cream colored cotton gown trailing her she strolls through the area with purpose.

Several stalls, booths, and shops are visited and she gets a few decidedly odd looks when she asks the merchant at a stall selling raw ores for jewelers for moderately sized sacks of very small pieces of lapis lazuli and hematite that would normally be unsuitable for making anything in normal circumstances. Other items bought are lemons, various herbs and perhaps the most odd of all….poppy seed. Everytime she considers a purchase she examines the item thoroughly as if checking its properties and freshness.

In the basket she carries is a small yet thick unmarked leather-bound book where she apparently keeps the list of what she needs. But there must be more than just a simple list within that book because she keeps considering other items and opening the book as if its a reference of some kind.

As the afternoon grows later and Belladona finishes her shopping she makes her way through the streets and back to the Tarris Manse where she is staying. Slipping inside the Ulsen Lady draws some attention from a few servants assigned to cleaning detail. One of the young peasant women a pretty girl with curly blonde hair remarks to her friend in a soft tone as Bella passes them heading up to her quarters with her basket of oddities.

"I thought she said she was going grocery shopping? As if that wasn't odd enough…it doesn't look like she actually bought food either?"

The other servant a slightly older and less attractive girl with mouse brown hair just shrugs lightly and eyes the lady as she heads out of sight.

"That one has been different from most nobles since she arrived here. She knows more about plants than our gardener and actually wanted to help tend them. Is it really surprising that she is the buyer of the oddest basket of groceries ever?"

The two girls giggle in amusement at the little quip while upstairs Belladona is unpacking her items near the small lab and workstation she has set up near her rooms. She consults her notes on how best to prepare them as she goes. Its not cooking by a long shot and these are not simple groceries. This is far more exciting, this is alchemy.
