Raevyn  Marguerite  Francois

There was only little time, and Julieta knew she had to inform at least some people of her sudden departure. and so she sat down and wrote three letters, rather brief notes, that sported her cultivated even handwriting nonetheless:

To Raevyn:

Dearst Little Bird,

It pains me to tell you that I have to leave Four Corners for a while. There are certain developments - they have to do with the baroness and my own person. Threats have been voiced, that make her and even me fear for my life.

I am going to Firen, with Councillor Mattias Thynne who has business there. I am to stay at the Charing Manse, so you may direct any correspondence there. I promise I will write you a longer letter, explaining in more detail, but for now, I can only tell you how sorry I am. I will ask my friend, the Gilded Lily, to take care of you in the meantime. She may know one or two things she can still teach you, to make that exam of yours less of a challenge.

I shall speak with the Madame, and ask her to postpone the exam, if you are agreeable to it! I would gladly attend those final tests, as it has been after all me, who convinced you to take this path after all!

May the One watch over you,

Julieta.

To Marguerite Lavecq, also known as the Gilded Lily:

Dearest Marguerite,

I have to leave Four Corners for a while, due to some rather unpleasant threats that have been brought forth against my person. I have business in Firen, and shall accompany Councillor Mattias Thynne who has business there as well. These travel plans have arisen at rather short notice. I apologize for disappearing this abruptly, but I do not wish to leave without asking you to uphold your generous offer until my return. I would be very pleased to accept it.

I would also like to ask a favor of you. You remember my student, Raevyn, whom we spoke about a few days ago? Could you spare some of your valuable time to give him some guidance for the time of my absence, a thing I can impossibly see to myself? For that I would be eternally grateful. Of course, I know, there is also Madame Orlévais, but she has so many duties to see to.

Yours,

The Pearl.

To Francois d'Cadri, delivered via a trusted runner boy in service of the Academy:

Dearest Francois,

I am leaving Four Corners, due to circumstances that are beyond my control. My absence will be temporary, but as of now, I cannot fathom how long it will last. It pains me, to leave you without having the opportunity to tell you goodbye in person. Rest assured, that one part of me shall stay here with you, as you have earned a place in my heart, and that I will take a part of you with me as well. Wonderful memories of the time granted to us, which will guarantee my thoughts will linger on you with continued fondness.

We shall meet again, when things have turned for the better.

For now, I assure you of my affection,

Julieta.
