A missive written in haste and given to a rider as Shirlyn leaves Four Corners, it’s still perfectly legible however, and is written in the form of a report. She has gotten to the bottom of what actually happened in Adriono’s household. And as a good investigator will do, she sends her Uncle Xavier a follow up report from her last missive, it wouldn’t do for him to have half of the story and Shirlyn didn’t have time to tell Evae before she left with Thomas.

Duke Xavier,

I have written to follow up with you on what I have discovered pertaining to the incident at the d’Armaz manor involving your daughter, Jaelynn. It was not until recently I had gotten the entire story, and I thought it was important that you know the whole of it in the days to come.

There was indeed a family squabble and Jaelynn had asked the Viscount to leave the room, however, she did not comprehend that she was asking the man to leave a room in his own house. These were his children he meant to talk to, she truly should’ve left and came back as soon as he was done. It was not for her to tell him what to do, and therefor in this, use her station as your daughter to bully him into doing as she says.

He did say some things to her, however threatening she would’ve thought them to be I’ve gotten the impression that whatever it was it was certainly not all that threatening. Adriono d’Armaz isn’t one to make idle threats and not act, perhaps he was goading her, but she should’ve known better. In this, she had ill grace.

It would seem that she had intended on infecting Adriono, but was only averted when his son, Dario, stood in the path of the purposeful spray. It was no accident, and any redirection, and second thought of the act, of such ‘fluids’ would’ve been after striking the poor Bishop.

I believe she did truly feel sorry about hitting the Bishop with the noxious fluids, I know Lady Myrana d’Armaz was quite shocked to learn that was how her brother fell ill. She was there, but apparently she did not see it as there was some form of obstruction blocking her view but it all came together to her whilst we spoke about it. Lady Myrana is where I found the truth of the matter, and would count it as a trusted source. The Bishop seems to hold no ill will to your daughter because of it, at least, he did not voice it to me.

Best of luck to you, uncle, I’m sure you’ll know soon enough as your eldest daughter has tucked tail and headed back home to you. Jaelynn should also be on her way and get there sooner if Evae has spoken true.

May you walk in the light of the One,

~Lady Shirlyn Charing
