Letters To

Gauvain  Justin  Thomas  Wulfred

The following letters are sent with the 3rd Regiment on their way back to Griffon Point. If and when they arrive is up to those who receive them! They will be carried by other means of travel once the Regiment arrives at Griffon Point, be it bird or scout rider.

Letter to Gauvain

Your Grace,

It is my hopes this letter finds you in better condition than when I left Griffon Point. Upon arriving at Firen as the envoy for Viscount Daltre, to which I must say the Court was very shocked to hear the contents of the letter upon which this Alphard Tarris has claimed to have written, the Queen and Viscount Cassomir, together, have decided that it was important for members of House Cassomir to stand together and alongside their people in these times of strife. I have been recalled.

That said, it has been an honour to serve for your House and I shall never forget the hand you extended me when none else would, a debt that in the future I hope I can repay. While it does trouble me to leave your service while your lands are still in peril, know that the Queen and Court have been made thoroughly aware of the situation that your Duchy faces. I have faith she will send further troops to aid you, but, I will not lie and say she said that herself. In fact, she left me with little to pass on in way of hope. But, I have faith that your vassals, such strong men of the East, ones that I have utter respect for, will serve you well to hold back our enemies.

The 3rd Regiment is in the hands of Sir Franklin Verynn, an honourable man, one that I’ve spent time with to take over should I fall. It would seem, outside of your recommendations, he is the best equipped to carry on the mantle for the 3rd Regiment.

May The One Watch Over You.

Lord Henric Cassomir

Letter to Justin Daltre

Viscount Daltre,

The 3rd Regiment returns without me at the command. I have left Sir Franklin Verynn, a man who was my second, in command. He is honourable and quick on his feet. He aided me in getting off the battlefield at Tamlin Ford. I have full trust in his abilities and would recommend his continued leadership, a matter that I passed on to his Grace.

The Queen has recalled me to serve my House. The East’s perils have been delivered with great urgency to Queen and Court. I have no news on further aid, for the Queen did not share this with me. The Maker will it that the East can hold out until news of that does arrive.

Good Luck and God Speed.

Lord Henric Cassomir

Letter to Thomas Chandus

My Friend,

I will not be returning to the East to aid you or your people. Upon making envoy for the East, as per Viscount Daltre’s orders, to the Queen and Court, I have been recalled to serve for my House. It is something I had anticipated in the future, for now seems far too soon knowing the battles the East are yet unresolved. I will be heading to the Fallow Lands and mustering a force there, if you wish to send correspondence.

It has been an honour fighting alongside you and your men. Perhaps it will not be too long before we do so again. Keep yourself safe Thomas. I expect we will have many stories to share the next we meet and I intend we do it over a pint of ale.

Good Luck and God Speed,

Henric.

Letter to Wulfred

Old man,

Wulf,

It has been an honour riding and fighting alongside you and your men. You will endure the war in the East, if you remember not to charge headlong into artillery! Don’t try that without me Old Man. Besides, I’ve yet to repay you for all the whiskey you’ve lent me over the battles we have faced, so you better keep your damn head down so I don’t have to waste it by pouring it over your grave. You know how much I would loath to do that.

In all earnestness, I write to inform you that I shant be returning East with the 3rd Regiment. The Queen has recalled me to serve alongside my House, to take command of mustering an army in the southwest. Send any correspondence to the Fallow Lands or Ironhold and it should reach me.

I hope to see you again my friend. You’ll be pleased to know you’ll have to keep all those bouncy pillow fluffers to yourself, as upon my return to Firen I have found myself betrothed. And save your laughter until we next meet, for I swear I can hear your great gut rippling with it from here!

Good Luck and Good Speed,

Henric
