Casimir  Raevyn

Its late on a bitterly cold night in Mastings. Casimir is in his tent pacing, unable to rest or sleep. The knight glances to the nest of pillows and blankets on the cot that serves as his bed and then looks to the table and chairs that serves double purpose as a makeshift desk and a dining table when he chooses to take his meals in private. Heaving a sigh Casimir moves over to the desk with purpose no longer able to resist the urge to write that letter he had promised.

Several hours and a quarter of a candle later he has several crumpled sheets of paper and also the finished product. Written on the finest paper he can get his hands on in this place the letter is neat and written in a loose and rather elegant hand. Reading over the letter a final time Casimir can't help but smile softly.

My Raevyn,

I owe you an apology. I had to leave early in order to return to Mastings. I had hoped that we would have more time to spend with each other. Perhaps we still will have the chance as I plan to return as soon as I am able. I hope this letter reaches you and that you are in good spirits and health. I must admit I miss your presence a great deal. Its so dire and cold up here. I cannot wait to have leave so that I may go somewhere warm and cheerful again and indulge in your presence once more. You are in my thoughts often and I will attempt to find a proper gift for you to send with my next letter.

Oh my Raevyn how I miss you and your delightful company. Yes I know I should not feel so strongly for someone I know so little of but I do. I suppose I have a bit of impulsiveness in me after all. Normally I try to think before I act but for some reason you have me compelled to act on my feelings. Its a curious but pleasant surprise I think. Every moment I spent with you was a good one and I eagerly look forward to seeing you again. I hope I am on your thoughts as you are on mine.

Signed

Your Knight

Reading over the letter Casimir nods in satisfaction. He named no names preferring to keep things anonymous for now, to preserve privacy. Sealing the letter carefully he places it to one side of the table so he will remember to send it off come morning. The candle is blown out and the knight goes to bed with a smile on his lips.
