(This letter is written in a cipher, if you want to try and break it, more than happy to do necessary rolls!)

Dearest Alina,

Receiving your letter put a smile upon my face, but I must be frank, there are matters that we must discuss at some point before or during our meeting at Lyioness.

I have had a conversation with my Queen, and frankly, I am left stunned at some of the recent news. Do you have any knowledge as to why the betrothal between Viscount Cassomir and Princess Alessandra was cancelled? I am left sitting here in something like shock trying to puzzle things out. To be quite frank, based on his performance at the Alasce tournament alone, I believe Sir Jaren proved his quality to the people of Aequor, or at least I like to think so.

Maybe I am becoming a little paranoid, maybe not, but would it be possible for agents of the Chessmaster to be working within your court to undermine this coming together of our two kingdoms for a more stable and solid peace?

Oh, and I too will hold you in my heart as I even subtly hinted to Her Majesty that I was still interested in marrying you.

Warmest Regards,
Tristan
