Claire

The silence within the room was great enough that anyone could hear a pin drop, much less footsteps or any other sort of movement.

Anything that Claire would do in light of what Sir Arnone had said during dinner was enough to keep anyone awake into the late hours of the night and the wee of the morning. Only, in her case, any bit of movement might be questioned. Especially if she took to pacing back and forth within her room and the last thing she needed was any of her four guardswomen to become alerted to her.. movements.

So. She thinks.

The moniker that had been used until now has real basis. However, there's something that sticks out of her seemingly orderly thoughts. The Thorn never married. Any children would be bastards and need to be legitimized.

But how does that happen when the claimant is a prince? A self-styled prince, no less.

Shifting slightly within her bed, Claire hopes it might just be discerned as adjustments while settling on her back to stare at the darkened ceiling above.

Haron. That was where Robar was headed. It's been a week and there's no sign of Gauvain either.

Could it be that because of Haron, her brother has been sent there first before seeing to his own sister? It's a possibility. One that she has to entertain.

If that is true, she'll be here for weeks. The other side of that is: CAN she maintain herself like this for untold weeks? One has been trying enough on her patience and wits. But many? A month? Two? More?

Folding both hands across her waist, still with the idea of minimal movement and sound paramount, Claire does consider the possibility that there is going to be a war. And she's virtually unable to leave.

Or is she?

Can she really press a case for exercising her own horse? Getting outside of the Keep with her guards in tow?

Then again, there's Arnor. A problem in and of itself, given his view of Tarris and Romante alike. And he's likely as not to let her within the gate without twenty armed in tow, if that few. Beyond that? Where would she go? Kentaire is not a familiar area to her.

She'll have to think, but continue her rounds in the morning. Horse. Sketching. Being silent to her ever-present guards.

There has to be a way to find out more information about this Keep, its history and how this bastard son of Anton Romante's gained so much power.
