d'Armaz Army Camp
Army Camp, Nicolo's tent.
9/29/1866

Darkness has fallen like a blanket over the D'Armaz army encampment. North of the lands of House Rodgers they are camped out and the late hour means most are resting in preparation for the next movement of troops. A shadow slips quietly through the camp, dark green cloak flowing behind him his hood pulled up and his steps silent. He moves towards the commanders tent unseen for the most part in the shadows. He seeks out Nicolo D'Armaz with stealth and grace making his best effort to move unseen through the camp. The fewer people know he is here the better…for now.

It isn't long before he finds his way, and there he finds the d'Armaz heir. He sits in a camp chair lounging. A glass of fine red wine held loosely in one hand as he looks over maps posted on a board before him. Tiny silver daggers, no larger than a thumb nail are pressed into the board. Each trailing a piece of fabric with a Legend pasted next to the maps.

The man himself doesn't move from his chair. Just lounges seemingly lazily and sips his wine casually. His dark eyes however betray anything but the laziness, as they travel over the map like a master chess player studying a board.

The shadows next to where the D'Armaz is lounging part and suddenly without so much as a sound Snake-Eyes is standing a few paces away to the left of the chair studying the board intently as well. A voice comes from behind that metal snakes mask, the sound rich and echoing slightly from behind the mask. It has an eerie quality to it and its tone is flat and emotionless despite the politeness of the words spoken. "Have you need of my skills my Lord?" The masked assassin waits for the Lord to speak clasping his hands in front of him and waiting with patience for the other to address him.

"Yes." Nicolo says casually, not even batting an eye at the appearance. Having grown up with this sort of thing is normal for a d'Armaz. He gestures to the map. "I need to know if the Arkanin have fallen for my trap. If they have, then a large portion of their forces have moved toward Winder and Hawkness. Hopefully Lady d'Rana and Elettra's ships have them moving, but we don't know."

With his free hand, he draws a dagger from a boot and tosses it at the map. It makes a solid THWACK on impact. The weapon quivers there near House Rogers. "Find out if these Southern Barbarians have troops here, at Rogers. Kill an officer or two. Make it look like an accident." He looks over to Snake Eyes. "We will be marching soon."

The hooded and masked head of the assassin dips slightly, a single nod of understanding given. He listens to his orders in silence likely already analyzing what he needs to do and the best way to do it. The grey eyes behind the mask remain mostly hidden, but if spotted there is blankness to them that matches his voice. He shows nothing but he listens and once the orders are given that eerie voice rings out again from behind his mask. "It shall be done. I will find you when the mission has be completed." And then with a few soft backward steps Snake-Eyes blends into the shadows from whence he came. He lingers a moment eyeing the board and its map from the shadows as if memorizing it. A faint rustle of wind that could be his cloak is the only signal of his departure. The assassin creeps away on silent feet, intending to begin his mission right away.

Nicolo nods once, even as the man slinks away. "Snake Eyes." He says, knowing the man will listen before he is completley vanished. "Accidents. They need to look like accidents. We need Roger's in chaos when we strike, but if they suspect an assasin, they may be able to tell we are coming." He sips his wine. "They don't need to die either. Just be out of the fight, our soldiery can handle the rest." He nods and sets the wine glass down. He steeples his fingers and returns to studying the board once again.

Snake Eyes does indeed pause to listen. There is no sound for a long moment, almost as if he is no longer there. Then from the shadows comes his voice once more. "Understood Lord Nicolo. It will be done as you command." The assassin remains hidden in the shadows and once Nicolo returns to the board Snake Eyes will vanish into the night. Plans are made in the assassins mind as he travels the land by night moving silently to his destination.
