Four Corners - Fire and Steel
The first room one sees upon entering is a clean shop and display area. The floors are polished wood of a medium hue and the walls the same off white stone as seen outside. A counter with small locked glass cases holds jewelry while the wall to the left holds examples of the weapons crafted here. The right wall holds examples of the armors. A neatly written sign on the center of the counter between the cases lists prices for each current premade item for sale as well as prices for custom orders and commisions. Behind the counter another door leads into the forge itself.
Septembre 18th, 1866

For a newly opened business Fire and Steel has been getting a good deal of attention and business of late. Most of that business comes from more wealthy clients due to the quality of the wares here. The shop is neatly organized and kept quite tidy, everything clean and in its proper place. It gives the shop a more refined air than one might expect from a blacksmith's shop. The sun is only partly up this early morning and though the shop is opened already no customers have arrived yet. The short yet shapely figure of Arielle comes out from the forge. She certainly doesn't look like your typical blacksmith, she isn't an inch over five feet and her figure is actually more typical of a courtesan than a blacksmith, minus the muscles on her arms. Dressed in her work clothes with her blonde hair pulled neatly back into a braid that swings behind her, she walks in with slow graceful steps. She is turning over a men’s bracelet in her hands eyeing it with a critical yet ultimately satisfied gaze. She carefully unlocks one of the jewelry cases and sets the piece inside, arranging it to its most flattering angle. Closing and locking the case carefully she turns slowly on her heel glancing about the shop thoughtfully as she makes sure everything is in its proper place and looks presentable.

Early morning it is, a rather unusual hour for one Guillaume Tyres to be up and about, but today seems to be the exception to his usual routine, according to which he would still be in bed. Having heard of the new business at the Marketplace may be one of the reasons why he suddenly strolls into the shop. His attire marking him as a wealthy client indeed. Breeches in dark red with some golden embroidery, a pair of matching breeches of elegant cut that are tucked into a pair of polished fine leather boots; an elegant cloak of a darker hue worn above it all, to protect against the first chill of an impending autumn; and the Tyres wearing it all with an ease that fits his smile. Another man follows him inside, a henchman or bodyguard, who knows, but this man is indeed clad as a lower class commoner would be. What the two have in common is that they are armed, the henchman with a plain longsword, nothing fancy, while Guillaume's blade seems to be of a slimmer, more elegant design. Dark eyes find the form of the blacksmith, and for a moment, the Tyres will pause, to take in that shapely frame in every detail possible from his current position. A glance that may indeed appear impertinent, in its lingering and assessing nature. Should the blacksmith look his way, he will offer her a smile, however, his eyes lifting to meet her gaze. "Good day, Mistress.", Guillaume greets with a nod. "You've opened up this shop just recently, as I heard?"

As the door opens Arielle's head does indeed turn. Bright blue eyes take in the Tyres and his servant carefully. The way those eyes take in her form have a golden brow raising ever so slightly, a subtle look of challenge to match his impertinent stare. The smile she gets earn him a soft gentle smile in return and Arielle inclines her head low in respect. She might challenge his staring but she remains polite and professional despite it. "Good day to you as well Master Tyres." Is the polite reply. She speaks softly but with a quiet sort of confidence. She knows who he is. Being from a wealthy merchant family herself she has had the names of the more important faces drilled into her or so it would seem. "The shop has been open for almost a year, but business is picking up a great deal now that some have seen my work. I am Arielle Delara. What can I do for you?" She pauses glancing at his blade at his belt thoughtfully and studying it with a rather critical and assessing eye before adding. "I make custom pieces as well as what I currently have in stock. So if you would like something unique made specifically to suit you I can do that. Though it's a much more involved process and I tend to ask the one who is buying it to help me in coming up with a suitable design. I like my custom made work to fit well with its owner." She offers a faint little smile her eyes lifting once more to meet his. "So it simply depends on what you want."

That look of challenge earns a slight lift of his brows, the Tyres by no means discouraged and offended, when his smile deepens even further. That she knows who he is does not baffle him either, he is the son of the most important man in Four Corners, so his ego has already adapted to the fact that he will be known wherever he goes - here in Four Corners. "A whole year?", Guillaume echoes, taking a step closer to where Arielle stands, busy with her work. "It must reflect poorly on me to have been oblivious for so long of this smithy. The earlier proprietor has certainly been a less remarkable figure, Mistress Arielle. I am pleased to make your acquaintance. You are making weapons and jewelry? How unique." His gaze drifts towards her arms, taking in their muscular physique, before he notices her own gaze has already shifted towards his blade. "Oh, that…" Her draws it slowly from its sheath, to present it to her. "A rather fashionable blade from a smith of Kentaire. I like the rather slim character of the blade, it makes the weapon lighter, allowing for a swifter attack. What do you think of it…?" Crossing his arms before him, he will assume a casual lean against the wall, watching her observing his sword with amused fascination. "You are not what I would expect, when visiting a smithy. Your kind tends to be male, bulky and with a forehead that glistens with sweat.", Guillaume remarks in a conversational tone, offering her a wink should she look his way.

His bodyguard, meanwhile, remains by the door, in a similar casual lean against the wall, arms crossed, his gaze attentive.

A slight nod is offered at the question, blue eyes watching him as he steps closer. Arielle cants her head to one side regarding him with an easy sort of confidence and a soft smile. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance as well Master Tyres. Your reputation may precede you but I don't think it quite does you justice." Those eyes seem to glitter for a moment, a hint of mischief there at those words. It's hard to tell if she is complimenting him or not. She notes the way his gaze lingers on her arms. She has muscles but unlike most blacksmiths she is softened by her curves. It gives her a look of strength, but there is no denying her shape is feminine enough to make quite a few women jealous as well. As the blade is drawn Arielle drifts over to examine the blade taking it and looking it over with keen eyes. "Fashionable indeed but not quite as sturdy and well made as it could be. I make weapons, armor, and jewelry yes. The first two things I make are a balance of fashionable and functional. Pretty enough to be shown off but also perfectly capable of holding up in a fight or battle. I do my best to ensure quality but also fashion in my armor and weapons." The blade is carefully offered back to the Tyres and she catches that wink, it causes a hint of pink to bloom in her cheeks but she just laughs softly. She sounds faintly amused as she replies to that. "I get that a lot Master Tyres. Most people are quite shocked when they discover my profession and even more when they discover how good I am at it despite all my differences from traditional blacksmiths. Traditional ways are not the only ways." She meets his gaze a moment that subtle look of challenge returning now and she offers another soft and rather sweet smile. "So did you want a blade or armor? Or maybe jewelry? I am here to serve." That sweet smile turns a touch playful and it becomes clear that she might just be teasing him, just a little bit.

An amused snort can be heard from the Tyres when he stifles a chuckle. "My reputation does not do me justice?", he quips. "How would you know, Mistress Arielle, when I've just walked into your shop." He is indeed handsome, but of a negligent kind, a bit of stubble covering his lower cheeks, and the area beneath his bottom lip, along with a moustache. What Arielle will know, is that Guillaume Tyres is a widower, father of two kids, but also a womanizer - which her recent comment must have referred to? What he notes is the glitter in her eyes, that sparkle of mischief, and cheeks that will pinken in response to his wink. All of these observations will prompt Guillaume Tyres to push his game a little further. "You are quite lovely for a blacksmith," he tells her, "and very young as well." His blade he will secure back into its sheath at his belt, only to shift in his stance, one arm resting against the wall to support him, while the other - moves forward, his hand brushing a strand of her blonde hair to the side, which may have escaped her braid, a brief, gentle and almost casual gesture. The hand is withdrawn, while the Tyres remains in his posture, leaning against the wall. "A blade," he states to her question, the tone now a bit more to the point. "Custom made, light like the one I've showed you, but… if possible not so easy to break. A few adornments on the hilt would be fine as well, as it will be a fashionable accessory as well as deadly weapon, if such is required." Even so, a slight flicker in his dark eyes may indicate there are more things she could do for him, an adequate reaction to her own tease.

"First impressions can be quite telling Master Tyres. Though I would not mind the chance to learn more about you, I am certain you have more important matters to attend at the moment." Arielle smiles quite sweetly but she slowly begins to withdraw away from him now. The compliment has her pausing regarding him with a slowly growing blush but also a look of faint amusement. "If you are trying to flatter me now I can only wonder what you would do when I actually make an effort at looking nice." She raises a brow as he touches her hair and that blue gaze stares into his intently almost daring him. She knows his reputation but she can't help but tease him a bit. As his hand pulls away she takes a slow step back putting space between them now. She nods thinking over his request carefully. "It can be done. Since it will be custom I will give it priority. It will cost more than a regular blade though and it will take me roughly two weeks to make. I say two weeks but it could be done before depending, it's a rough estimate to insure I have time to make it to the best of my ability. But I will first need to design the blade and then once you confirm you like one of the designs I will begin forging it. It shouldn't take me more than a day to come up with a few different designs to show you." Complete professionalism seems to have taken over now and though she does offer a small knowing smile at that hint that he may want more from her than just a blade she says nothing of it at the moment.

Dark eyes follow Arielle as she continues to offer him sweet smiles but actually withdraws from him, amusement dancing in Guillaume's gaze. "I did not try to flatter you," he states taking a tiny step towards her as to not allow her to further the distance between them. "I've obviously succeeded, judging from the blush. A quite comely blush, if I may say so, that is bound to draw attention." His attention. Which she will continue to enjoy, especially when his fingers adjusting her hairdo have such a remarkable effect. Brows lift at the challenge in her blue gaze which he meets with a glint of his dark eyes and a wry grin. Not following her this time, when she takes a step backwards, the Tyres will meet her gaze with a slightly more businesslike expression, accepting Arielle's comment on the price of such custom made weapon with a slight shrug of a shoulder. "Two weeks, that sounds reasonable enough," Guillaume states with a nod. "When will you have the designs ready?" If he catches that hint of a smile on Mistress Delara's face, it does not show, the glance he shoots her polite with just that shadow of awareness of her comely form.

That statement is met with that faintest of smiles from Arielle. The amusement in her gaze remains but it's faint and she seems to be fighting for control with herself, she also seems to be winning. "I see. Then I shall have to guard myself carefully when around you Master Tyres. If you have such an effect when not even trying." She lets the smile fade now taking the arrogance and the praise with no more than a slightly raised golden brow. The blush slowly begins to fade as they talk of business and she remains professional and quite lady-like meeting his eyes calmly and without any visible embarrassment. "It could be less, the standard time for making a blade is a week but I am…picky about my work. The designs will be ready tomorrow sometime I suspect. Likely close to midday if all goes well." She glances around the shop briefly, her expression thoughtful as she likely goes over all that needs to be done. "You can review the designs at your leisure once I finish them, but keep in mind that you must select a design before I can begin the work. I won't make something for commision knowing there is a chance my customer won't like it once finished." She turns slowly slowly moving to make her way behind the counter. "Will there be anything else Master Tyres? If not then I will get started on the designs." Only then does she look towards him once more, her self control still present, her reactions and tone perfectly polite but more guarded now. There isn't a single hint of wariness in her eyes or expression, in fact whatever she feels is hidden rather expertly those blue eyes polite and steady as they meet that dark gaze.

And here Arielle manages a rare thing, she causes Guillaume Tyres to submit to a low rumble of a chuckle, when he hears her reply about guarding herself. "Mistress Delara, let me clarify… I may have aimed to charm you, it wasn't merely trying, so… forgive me. Old habits." He smirks, not without allowing his gaze to wander once again appreciatively of Arielle's pleasing yet so smithy-like clad physique. "I meant every word I said, when I complimented you on your looks." He smiles, that chuckle slowly subsiding when the talk turns towards his request for the blade to be custom made by her. "Tomorrow? I may come by, or send my man Bertrand," - he points towards his bodyguard by the door - "to fetch the designs. I expect a price calculation will be finalized by then as well? Not that I don't trust you, you wouldn't try to rip a fellow merchant of Four Corners off, would you?" Said with a most charming smile and a wink. "I believe we are done then for today? I thank you for your time, Mistress Delara." The Tyres turns to head towards the door, when a thought suddenly makes him pause in his steps. "Oh by the way… We being fellow merchants, the machine that keeps this citystate running… I will be hosting a party at my Manse, on Septembre 26th. Mayhaps you would like to come around?"

That golden brow raises once again and those blue eyes gleam with amusement and a challenge for him, if he chooses to accept it. Arielle's expression softens a touch but she remains quite in control of herself. That smirk is returned by a rather playful little smile. She pauses her steps towards the counter and slowly turns to look him in the eyes those blue eyes sparkling with amusement now. "You may have meant every word you said but I do believe such compliments are not given without a purpose in mind. Flattery will not get you a discount Master Tyres…no matter how charming I might find you." There is a knowing look in her eyes as if she suspects he wants more than her blacksmithing services but judging by her expression and her posture she will not be giving in easily to such suggestions. He will have to put forth actual effort. She nods in acceptance. "You may come yourself or send someone to fetch the designs, whichever you prefer. Yes I will have the price finalized with the designs and there will be no attempts to rip you off. My work is slightly more expensive than the norm but not outrageously so. I think you will find yourself quite satisfied." There is a look of mischief in her eyes again and she nods. "Yes we are done and thank you for your visit and your business Master Tyres." She will watch him turn to go and then turn back to make the offer, she blinks her lashes fluttering as a look of surprise enters her eyes. She offers a warm smile and a polite little nod. "I would be delighted to, if you wished to invite me."

"The purpose for flattery is obvious, I would think?", counters Guillaume Tyres with a smirk, as one of his brows lifts just so, dark eyes studying the charming smith with amusement, but also a hint of interest. "I am not that dependent on a discount, given my situation, you know?" A nod follows to her comment about fetching the designs, he obviously not suspecting her to intend ripping him off. It is when Guillaume issues his invitation, that he looks back to Arielle, just in time to catch that flutter of her eyelashes. "Indeed, I do.", the Tyres concedes. "Besides… it would give me the opportunity to admire your form in a dress."
