Alasce - Breakwater Inn
The Breakwater Inn is a truly enormous bit of property, with a three-storey brick-and-wood building right on the docks and overlooking the river, full glass windows, woven wool carpets and good furniture. A big stable faces the courtyard where visitors horses are taken to be looked after for a copper to the stableboys. Inside the kitchen stand two banks of brick ovens, and the common room is usually crowded with locals and travelers alike. The rooms are comfortable, if a little small, with three 'suites' that are larger and furnished with featherbeds and in-room stoves to keep the occupants toasty warm.

Tis afternoon, and with the Tournament beginning in earnest this eve, there is a certain buzz about town. The first event after all is an al'Sylenthar tradition, bare knuckled boxing. With as many Houses in attendance and knights coming out of the woodwork in order to compete-the tavern itself is full. Though right now is is more full with a mixture of middle classed yeomanry and nobles that your usual common man. The door opens, bringing attention to the new man coming in.

"By bloody gods, it's the Laughing Demon.." one man breathes out, which of course gets a chorus of cheers and mixed looks alike. As such the new arrival remains in the doorway surveying before there's a point at the fellow who just spoke.

"That Man!" he shouts "Get's a round, as does my Squire." he says, with a thumb to the young man behind him as he makes his way to a table- one that is somehow inbetween asses in seats and clean. "Of course-my self, but that is all I am paying for." Remy d'Korbina may be a favorite, but he's not going to buy rounds for every aleshop he walks into.

Sitting alone at table near the corner of the tavern is the Lady Jayne d'Bellet. The golden haired heir to the d'Bellet Barony watches the new arrival with interest and a hint of amusement when he mentions he is not paying for anyone else. She tilts her head to the side the silver pearl studded clips holding her hair in place catching the light slightly. She smiles in his direction as he passes by her corner calling out in a clear yet gentle teasing tone that has a hint of amusement to it as well. "So you won't buy a lady a drink then? Even if I offered you a seat at my table in exchange?" Her eyes shine with mischief as she gestures to the seat across from her smiling slyly. She shifts in her seat casually straightening out her ocean blue silk skirts and 'accidentally' showing just a hint of her toned legs in the process.

Perhaps it is the glint of light that catches his eye or perhaps the 'accidental' shift of leg, but the Laughing Demon does stop and regard the woman who so boldly called him out. A brief smirk is given, before shifting into an amused look all together. His squire passes him on to the table, as it seems the d'Bellet is getting her wish, in that the knight is coming back to where she is seated. Remy pauses as fingers move to drum on the table, before he is watching a server scurrying by.

"That depends on the lady, and what we are drinking." he says softly before bowing his head, and then reaching down, if only to pluck at her skirt-there fore to cover any further flashed flesh. A huge liberty taken, but- it's who he is. "And who would I be drinking with, if I were to get you a drink?" After all his byname-and thus who he is is known thanks to the fellow who is happily getting another round without paying.

That smirk is returned by the d'Bellet Lady a look of pure amusement in those smoky grey eyes of hers. She tilts her head to one side lofting a thin blonde brow as he takes the liberty to shift her skirts himself. If anything this seems to amuse her further. "I prefer either wine or whiskey myself but if you are buying then I suppose you get to choose yes?" She studies him intently now as he asks for her name. "You would be drinking with the Lady Jayne d'Bellet, the heir to the d'Bellet Barony if you want specifics." She flashes him a sweet and rather charming smile. "So what does the Laughing Demon say to sharing a drink with me hmm?" Her gaze still amused turns curious now as she looks him over assessing him carefully.

Smirk returned causes a brow to stray p, but it settles easily enough. Andso he moves to sit without any further biddance. Chuckling softly, Remy, keeps his hands up on the table as he continues his quiet study of the d' Bellet. "Ah,so you have a litany of titles. Heiress, Lady, sometime to be Baroness." A click of his tongue, before he is looking back towards the serving girl who has come-once his squire and the other gentleman were seen to. "Whisky." he intones "Though it won't be an al'Sylenthar batch I imagine." this an aside to Jayne- as the girl goes squirreling off in search of glasses. "I will see if you can handle such strong stuff-that seems to be more of an al'Callenta bent? I do know some of the Northern Houses prefer such strong drink."

Jayne laughs softly. "Oh I don't think my titles ares so many all things considered…though if you wanted to you could add Captain to the list considering I command my own ship as well. Most d'Bellet nobles can sail after all." She smiles as he orders whiskey for them both. She raises a brow at him another soft laugh escaping her lips. "Are you trying to get me drunk now then? I am afraid unless you also wish to get drunk then this plan will likely fail. I can hold my whiskey rather well." Her lips quirk up into another smirk a challenging look in her eyes as she reagrds him now. "Are you here for the Tournament? I do enjoy watching them…I just wish they made a contest for shooting hand cannons rather than just bows as I might actually be able to win that."

"Can they?" Remy again seems amused by the prospect of it, but then he doesn't comment further, obviously allowing an in for the Lady to educate him on the finer points of seamanship. When the whisky is brought he gives a nod to the girl and produces a couple of silvers before sending her on her merry. A look is given back to the d' Bellet, as the laugh begins to leave her again. "Why would I try to get a fine and upstanding Captain drunk? After all I am a knight- not some rogue from the docks." he adds before taking a sip of his drink. "I am." Remy answers a matter of factly, before he is looking back still slightly amused by a his new companion. "I plan on being in the exhibition tonight." he adds on. "After all, it has been some time since I have been in a tournament in Alsace. I would love to enjoy every minute of it."

"Yes we do a lot of trade by ships and our family seat, Creston is a port city. My father taught me to sail as soon as he deemed me old enough to learn." Jayne tilts her head as she regards him curiously now. "So thats not your motive then? But would you tell me if it was? I doubt it." She smirks her expression playful now. "Knights can be just as fun as rogues though if given the oppurtunity for leisure. Everyone can loosen up if given the chance to relax a little. Being too serious gets dreadfully boring after a while." Once the drinks arrive she takes a sip studying him with a warm smile now. "Then I will wish you the best of luck. I am going to be watching the event tonight…I'm looking forward to it in fact."

That brings a laugh from the aptly named Laughing Demon. "No, not my motive at all, Lady. After all I must keep my wits about me in order to be of use for the fight. And that requires all of my energy as well." A ghost of a wink and Remy shifts in his chair, ever so slightly. "I never said I was serious, but I do have a lady's reputation to not mar." with a motion made in Jayne's direction. "Shall you? And tell me, should I win- what will that merit in the scheme of things? I know what I have to gain as far as prizes go."

An amused smile is given as Jayne's head cants to one side her expression warm. A playful smile appears on those full lips now. "Yes fighting while drunk would be rather unwise no matter how entertaining it could be." She shifts slightly leading forward just a little and taking another drink from her glass. "You are very considerate to think of preserving my reputation." She smiles slyly but his next question has her brow lifting and surprise crossing her features. "Hmm….are you saying you would accept an extra prize from myself if you should happen to win? That could be interesting….tell me what would you want if I did offer you something extra?" Her eyes shine with mischief as she sips her whiskey studying him from over the rim of her glass.

Another grin and more laughter, though soft as it may be comes from Remy d'Korbina-and with smooth and polished grace, the rest of his whisky is downed. There is a pause and he is moving to stand and slide from the booth with a wipe of his jaw. Carefully he looks over the young d'Bellet before his own mischievious grin is applied. "I haven't decided yet." he states before turning his empty glass over on the table. "Give me time to think on it." and with that he is going to sneak out. He'll let his squire have his time to rest, while he goes to prepare. "I'll see you. d'Bellet." called over his shoulder, before his form is taken out into the light of day.
