Jephray Gwynain is the third child of famed commander Viscount Alfred Gwynain. He began his training amongst the foot at a young age, like all Gwynian men- though as he grew older and saw the horrors of war up close and personal during the 30 year conflict, instead of taking oath as knight and a man at arms he flung himself to the church seeking instead the life and peace of the priesthood.

However the church has needs of good soldering men and given his passion for penance and to be a priest he was finally accepted into the order of St. Michaelis as a Chaplain, though from the fronts they kept him, in order to teach his mind to wage war for mens souls and not just for glory on the field. Jephray proved an apt pupil and took to it like a fish to swimming. By the time the Succession War rolled in earnest, Jephray was an ordained priest and aiding in training in the yards in Rikton — and married to an Agnès Tarris, an arranged match which strangely enough would become a loving marriage, producing four children.

Jephray would however be sucked back into Galenthia as the civil war for the throne raged. An appeal from Arturo Romante for men and women to shepherd his troops was heard and Jephray was sent to his army to accommodate. As such Jephray found himself in combat encouraging men onward and fighting when needing to. Swift with a blade he soon made a name for himself and oft served as a rallying beacon on the field and a kind hearted care giver off. He was present when Arturo fell and was able to get men out safely even if he could not get to the King. Despite the neutrality of the Church-churchmen in the conflict did not show it and thus was he unable to get the body without grave danger, leaving Arturo in the field.

Jephray as of late was in the North on mission with the Northern forces to push back and convert the heathen. He had only recently returned home and to Firen as tensions in the south mount.

On the Grid

I put no stock in religion. By the word ‘Religion’ I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the ‘Will of God.’ Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness. What God desires is here…(points to head)and here… (points to heart) and by what you decide to do every day, you will be a good man. Or not. -Kingdom of Heaven
