Background
An adaptable and ambitious Reine Lady, now the squire of Baron Thomas Chandus.
Synthia is the first child of the youngest of the Viscount Varian Reine's uncles. Born and riased in Windholme in Ashwood Keep Synthia spent most of her childhood being tempered tested and trained. Even as a child she had ambition and the drive to do her best. She was born stubborn and determined to not only make her family proud but also earn her own impressive reputation. It became apparent from an early age that she would make a good fighter and so she was given teachers to teach her basic combat skills as well as traditional nobles skills.
She learned to ride horseback, dance, and she studied history, lore and political intrique. Synthia was of average intelligence but her desire to learn was strong and she even learned the Old Tongue so she could read some older and to her more interesting books. She wanted to be not only strong but also clever. She had strong opinions. Family was all important and so was success. She never doubted her house was on the right path even at the height of the Sucession War.
Several of her family members fought in the Sucession War and though Synthia was too young to fight at first she developed an interest in learning a bit about tactics and how to sucessfully run and manage a household while her older relatives went to war. Sometimes she went riding outside the keep and she had a natural talent for riding horseback. She wasn't overly fond of going hunting or tracking though but she learned the basics of this as well. As she grew up it was decided she would do best following a knights path.
Synthia became a page at age nine and worked her way up the ladder of page duites, chores and lessons. She became a squire at age fourteen. Her first knight was a family friend, a cousin of the the Tarris family from a cadet branch.
She became a squire right after House Tarris switched sides taking her own House with them. She was a bit confused by way the switch happened but her loyalty to her family and liege was strong. She often wondered why the sudden change of heart happened but she never openly questioned. She was more curious as to why it happened and didn't really oppose it at all especially since they won the war anyway. There was a moment of strong anxeity near the end of the war where she was afraid her House would be destroyed for its choices but they were pardoned and she remains fairly grateful to House Romante for this.
Her knight was with her through the war until she was eighteen and a mere few steps away from Knighthood and earning her spurs. Then her knight was heavily injured and crippled in a tourney and forced to retire. Synthia was upset by this for a moment but then it was decided that her Head of House Viscount Varian Reine would take her on and finish her training. She was excited having heard much about his prowess and was eager to learn what he could teach her. She didn't really care that most people seemed to fear him and that her house was slightly mistrusted as a whole. They would learn to respect House Reine in time.
Trust was nice but House Reine needed more than trust to become even greater. It needed power and ambition and Synthia had the latter in spades now she just needs to get some of the former. Synthia maintained the reputation of a well behaved young lady and respectful squire in most everything she did. She was determined and ambitious but also cunning and paitent. She didn't mind waiting for an opening. She was far from impulsive and brash but she also had a vengeful mean streak when her family was wronged or slighted. She could play the part of both a sweet and demure lady and a hard hearted warrior. She wasn't one or the other she was both and she used this to her advantage as much as she could. Now she waits for an oppurtunity to prove herself and earn her spurs.
After serving her Cousin Varian for several months and taking part in several battles Synthia is slowly growing closer to her goal of Knighthood. She was gifted a warhorse by the Duke Tarris for one battle and helped her Cousin reclaim their lands after they were taken over by the Thorns. Once the family seat was reclaimed she rode to Four Corners and took part in two festival events there, a melee and a horse race. She placed second in both earning the beautiful lightsilver poleaxe called Dragonsreach from the melee and a generous purse from the races. It was there in Four Corners that she spoke with Baron Thomas Chandus and arrangements were made to remand her service as a squire to him instead. It was arranged and now she will serve the Baron and earn her spurs under him instead.

Synthia is a fairly imposing young woman for one her age. Above average in height for a woman her figure is filled out with ample curves and visible muscle tone. She is sturdy, her body shapely and feminine but also strong and well defined. Everywhere her skin can be seen it is smooth and fair, on the verge of being pale but with a rosy hue around her cheeks and lips. Blonde hair is light, somewhere in between golden and platinum. That hair is long reaching down her back to her butt. The weight of it causing the blonde locks to fall in loose waves, the texture silky and soft in appearance. That hair is most often pulled up either into elaborate braids and styles or simple buns to keep it out of her way. Thin brows are low set above her eyes. Those large round eyes are framed by thick dark lashes. Those eyes are a bright and vibrant green color. While her features are soft they also possess an aristocratic look to them. The high cheekbones and lightly pointed nose give her a somewhat regal look. Despite being small her lips are full and plump and the natural rosy hue of them against her pale skin causes them to stand out even more. A slender neck leads down to a pair of slender but strudy shoulders. Both her arms and legs are muscled lightly, her breasts are full and round, her stomach flat, and her hips rounded and slightly large.
She wears everything from trousers and tunics to fancy embroidered gowns depending on the occasion. Most often the outfits are in the colors of House Reine, black and blood red however she also seems fond of green, purple and occasionally ivory.
Personality
Synthia is normally very calm and in control of herself. A woman of average intelligence with exceptional talent for physical pursuits Synthia strives to use more than just her weapon to succeed. She knows the value of war and fighting but she also knows the value of diplomacy and being respected. She struggles to be both clever and strong and prides herself on her ability to adapt. While she tries to maintain a civilized air about herself she has no issue with employing much…harsher methods on those who cross her and her house. She can be the perfect respectable sweet tempered lady just as easily as she can be a frightening and brutal opponent.

Wardrobe
Currently she wears a square necked fitted gown of deep blood red silk trimmed in black lace. The ebony colored lace runs along the collar and sleeves of the dress. The neckline is slightly low but not enough to be considered immodest. About that slender neck is a silver pendant with a single square cut ruby resting against her collarbone. The sleeves are long and fitted hugging her arms. The top of the gown is designed in a similar fashion hugging her breasts and pushing them up and out slightly. The gown is fastened in the back with black laces and the skirt is full and flowing reaching down her legs and trailing behind her hiding whatever shoes she is wearing at the moment.
Currently she wears a round necked fitted gown of pitch black silk with silver embroidery and inlaid pearls decorating it. The embroidery and sewn on pearls runs down the front of the dress. The neckline is slightly low but not enough to be considered immodest. About that slender neck is a string of pearls with an oval cut onyx gem framed in silver hanging from the center of it. The necklace rests against her collar bone high above the low neckline of the dress. The sleeves are long and flowing down her arms, the ends of them trimmed in black lace. The top of the gown is more fitted to her form but still retains the look of being loose, airy and flowing. It highlights her breasts, the fine embroidery on the gown forming a pattern of silver flowers and vines on the fabric that is accented by the pearls sewn into it. The skirt is full and flowing fanning out and reaching down her legs to trail behind her hiding whatever shoes she is wearing at the moment.
Currently she wears an elegant round-necked gown of ebony and blood red silk. A string of black pearls is worn about her neck a single oval cut ruby in a silver frame hanging at its center. That rounded neckline is modest, highlighting but not revealing her figure. The top of this gown is pure red silk with small black pearl buttons down the front of it. It clings to her breasts and waist and then subtly loosens both in the skirt and the sleeves. The cut of the sleeves and skirt are loose and flowing, both have been layered with alternating black and red silk that flow seemlessly into each other. The sleeves float down her arms to a pair of small delicate hands. The skirt is full and cascades down her legs to the floor hiding her shoes completely. The effect of the red and black layers is a striking one and the flowing design only accents that.
Currently everything from the neck down is covered by a long-sleeved flowing crimson tunic, a fitted black vest and a pair of fitted black breeches. Tall lack leather boots are worn on her feet and a belt of black leather encircles her waist holding a few pouches and occasionally a weapon or two.
Armor & Weapons
Currently she wears a set of the blackened steel armor the Reine family is known for. The dark plates of this brigadine are lightly polished covering from her neck down her chest hiding her figure in favor of protecting it. The red dragon of House Reine is emblazoned on the front of this armor set against its traditional black background that fades into the already blackened steel nicely. Her arms are protected by matching pauldrons and gauntlets and her legs are equally protected by matching greaves and boots. A black belt about her waist holds a blackened steel bastard sword in a black sheath with a crimson cloth wrapped tightly around the hilt. The pommel of the blade is silver, sharp and fang shaped. The blade of the weapon is simple but finely made and well sharpened to serve its purpose. A helmet of the same blackened steel as the armor can also be worn with the armor to cover her face and head.
An immaculate and elegantly forged Polearm made of lightsilver. The haft is hand carved cherry wood and stained a dark ruddy color.
This lightsilver poleaxe was the product of Synthia winning second place in the Four Corners Melee. She used her earnings from her second place position in the horse races to buy a new haft and have a whole new weapon constructed. Its a beautiful and yet also practical weapon.
Horses
Synthia's first horse was a mare named Mist, a dappled grey horse who was taken by the Thorns.

Viscount Varian Reine : A fascinating man my cousin. There are whispers surrounding him, dark rumors and such. Whether these are true or not are irrelevant in my eyes. He is family and someone I admire and even though he is no longer my knight I shall still do my best to make him proud. |

Lord Thomas Chandus : We have spoken on a few occasions now. He seems a rather serious man but also driven and this I can respect. He has taken me on as his squire now in my cousins place. I hope I can make him proud and earn my spurs under his command. |

Lord Cassius Volstak : A fellow squire I met in Four Corners. Not quite as interesting as some but it will be nice to have someone to keep me informed on happenings in Ironhold. I do enjoy knowing what is going on and he seems like he will be easy enough to manipulate to that end. |

Lord Jarret Sokar : A Lord and Knight I met in Four Corners. We struck up a deal to aid each other in the melee and while I did slightly better than he I still have a good deal of respect for his fighting skills. Perhaps I can ask him to provide me with news as well. |

Lord Eisen D'Geroux : The winner of the Four Corners melee and a man who bested me with only his hands. I respect his skill and he also seems to be intelligent and in possession of self control, a rare and valuable set of talents indeed. I do believe he tried to charm me a bit after the melee. It might have worked but that doesn't mean I will let my guard down. I refuse to get attached to anyone in such a fashion but still, this should prove to be a rather fun game to play all the same. He continues to play with me still. I know he is toying with me but the worst part is I find myself actually liking and respecting this infuriating man. He reminds me of Varian in a way and while I am disgusted with myself in how I handle him I cannot think of a better way to handle things. God save me. |
