Background

As a member of the commoner Volstak family, Devon was born into the service of House Cassomir circa 1846 and has been groomed to become a knight from his earliest years. As a member of the commoner Volstak family, Devon was born into the service of House Cassomir circa 1846 and has been groomed to become a knight from his earliest years. It is no surprise then that he took up arms while still a squire to fight alongside his father, brother and sister when the succession wars began. When they were recognised for their valiant efforts during the War of Rose and Thorn, the resulting entitlement to nobility and lordship over Redbarrow Keep gave true weight to the pride Devon had always felt.

Having since been exposed to the true nature of battle, Devon has been able to hone his talent with real experience and is fast becoming a notably gifted lancer since his knighthood was bestowed upon him. The grand tournaments lure the young sir, providing a public proving ground to help further the credibility of House Volstak in its new role. With families turning their noses up at the recent addition to the upper-class, Devon has a point to prove and intends to do it in a manner best suited to his skill-set.

The forests that surround the family lands have provided a sure environment for the newly minted knight to take up hobbies, with hunting and carpentry occupying much of his time outside that of required duties. When Devon's cool composure does indeed crack during those times, he can't help but spit a biting comment or dry twist of sarcasm into the conversation. Though he understands his family has only ascended so far, he's nevertheless fiercely defensive of any slur that would dare try and mar the Volstak name.

Physical Description

Devon is a dirty-blonde, short-haired male who stands at the comfortable height of 5'11" and weighs in around 200 lbs. The young man has a well-composed face that errs on the side of serious decorum rather than overt expressions.

Robust in body, he's no doubt spent the last few years growing into the muscles he's developed through a mixture of good ancestral stock and vast phyiscal exertion. Overall he's fit as one can expect from a trained knight his age and not much more.
